Yaremche, report for 2022

On May 3th, on the basis of the "Prykarpatsky" children's sanatorium in the city of Yaremche, Ivano-Frankivsk region, with the financial support of the Children's Fund of Germany (ChildFund Deutschland), we started the Emergency Response Program, within which a shelter for evacuees was organized.
During this time, the Fund's activities covered the following areas:
- modernization of the canteen for children of the sanatorium;- renovation of the canteen for IDPs;- psychosocial support for children;- support for IDPs, humanitarian mission;- adaptation of IDPs, involvement in processes;- humanitarian support of the medical base of the sanatorium;- interaction with partner organizations and projects;- interaction with local authorities. Our support in the sanatorium began with the modernization of kitchen equipment. To improve children's nutrition and the condition of the canteen, the following equipment was provided: a dishwasher, detergents for the car for a year, a meat grinder, a bread slicer, an oven and a stove, refrigerators, furniture, tables and chairs, dishes for eating in the canteen. In the amount of more than 380 thousand hryvnias.
Over the course of 3 months, we also purchased:
- furniture for children and adults, as well as beds, mattresses, linen;- equipment for working with children in the direction of psycho-social support;- medicines for the medical building of the sanatorium;- food products and hygiene products.
During the entire period of cooperation, the Foundation provided humanitarian aid to more than 50 families with children from the hot spots of Ukraine and more than 1,000 children staying at locations in sanatoriums.
In July, the Generation UA ​​Rehabilitation and Psychosocial Support Center for children was opened.
We help with the adaptation and employment of adult IDPs living on the territory of the sanatorium. We actively involve adults in possible and interesting processes of the Fund's activities.
Close and fruitful cooperation with local authorities and partner organizations was established.
At our location, a summer camp was created with the involvement of IDP children within the framework of the DECIDE Summer Clubs initiative "We are at home - in Ukraine", thanks to which the children gained knowledge and skills in the field of democratic citizenship and human rights education.
We are establishing cooperation with the Red Cross Committee and the Department of Social Protection and the provision of social services to the population of the Yaremchan community.
We develop a project to improve the infrastructure of the sanatorium and update the medical equipment for the treatment base.
In autumn, a professional sports ground was built and put into operation on the territory of the sanatorium. In which not only children are engaged, but also IDPs living in the territory of the sanatorium and Yaremche. The field allows you to hold competitions in volleyball, tennis, basketball and various relays and other activities. What gives children and IDPs the opportunity to recover and develop physically and psychologically.With the spread of partnership cooperation, the activities of Tdh and SiLAB mobile teams are held on the basis of the center of psychosocial assistance Generation.ua. There is an exchange of experience in innovative directions between the partners, involved IDPs, and employees of the foundation.A lot of work has been done with involved local and IDP educators and psychologists.
Coverage of children by direction (for the period September - December 2022):1. Educational programs: offline learning, tests, trainings - more than 700 children;2. Creative programs: quests, play library, musical and creative competitions, exhibitions and contests - more than 850 children3. Psychosocial programs: art therapy, reflections, fairy-tale therapy, tactile exercises (sand, toys, etc.), retreats - more than 1,000 children and adults.To ensure high-quality hot food, a canteen for IDPs is equipped (convection machine, vegetable cutter, planetary mixer, gas stove, kitchen tables), equipped with dishes and products. Thanks to this, more than 300 IDPs received hot meals.The forces of the IDPs, with the support of the foundation, opened a culinary social enterprise on the territory of the sanatorium. That allows children of the sanatorium not only to play with treats, but also to learn about how to start their own business.Before the beginning of the winter period, work was carried out to prepare the premises for the winter period: metal-plastic windows and doors were installed, warm blankets and carpets were distributed to families and children of IDPs. The premises were also equipped with additional furniture and washer-dryers and heaters.In connection with the constant (since 10.10.22) power outages, IDP families and children were provided with a generator.Also, in connection with the cold weather and constant blackouts of light and heat, IDP families with children were provided with warm clothes and shoes.Together with the associated organization "Children's Centers of Ukraine Charitable Foundation", we continue our work on organizing the arrival and rehabilitation of children's groups from the de-occupied territories.
In the planning for 2023, it is planned to provide a powerful 35 kW generator to support the sanatorium, to provide current needs for beds, mattresses, and blankets. Provide hygienic products. Continue to develop the model of joint work of the social and psychological support center "Generation UA", and for this purpose involve other experts and donors in the partnership.
